The NM EPHT Network serves to understand how environmental factors influence human health. Many adverse health outcomes have links to the environment, such as air pollution and an increased risk of asthma or heart attacks. Having reliable data about these health outcomes provides a clearer picture of how the environment impacts public health in New Mexico. This information can then be used to direct interventions to prevent and control risk factors or enhance protective factors for these health outcomes.
