Data Notes

  • Selecting Community Water Systems' Analyte Dimensions[[br]] [[br]] MCL - The dimensions herein for the selected water analyte have 8 options to choose from, foremost are displays with respect to either Maximum Contamination Level (MCL), set by EPA based on toxicological evidence, and the tiered contaminants levels underlying the MCLs (typically 4-6 categories). MCL maybe distinguished by the dimension selection. [[br]] [[br]] Non-Detects - MCL Limit and classic toxicologically tiered level dimensions are further accompanied by selections that include or exclude factors relevant a given year's sample laboratory determined results and the detection limits of the given method, results below the detection limit are deemed Non-Ddetects. Detection limits are optionally set to distinguish analyzed samples with values below the detection limit; Non-Detects versus inclusion in the lowest levels of analyte sample categories and undifferentiated from other sample results. Non-Detects maybe distinguished by the dimension selection. [[br]] [[br]] Carry-Forward - Under most circumstances analyte samples are required only every third year. In off sample years the analyte is not sampled, shown in the dimension selections as Not-Sampled. A procedure called Carry-Forward as the last year's sample value made available in subsequent years to attenuate apparent year-to-year variability in sample displays. If Carry-Forward and Not-Sampled values are not included, the results could be subject to misinterpretation. Carry-Forward information maybe distinguished by the dimension selection. [[br]]
